City of Stonnington has a full time opportunity within our Engagement and Innovation Directorate for a Data Governance Specialist for a 3-6 month initial period, with the possibility to extend.

Your role will be to build on and drive Council’s data governance framework. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your data governance knowledge and experience in setting the direction as Council continues on its data governance journey.

In this position, you’ll define and implement data governance strategies and management processes, including an enterprise data governance operating model, data policies and standards. While proactively championing the value of data as a strategic asset, you’ll identify risks and develop mitigation strategies associated with data governance across all of Councils business areas.

If you’ve got specialist data governance knowledge and its application to Local Government, substantial experience in a similar role and a relevant tertiary qualification than this will be a great opportunity for you to expand on your skills and impact data governance at The City of Stonnington. You’ll need knowledge of the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS) and how they apply to Local Government along with experience in implementing data governance strategies, management processes and policies. Additionally you’ll need strong communication and engagement skills to provide training and advice and gain buy in from Management and end users.
