An opportunity exists at the City of Stonnington - one of Melbourne’s most progressive councils, for a permanent Freedom of Information Officer to join our Corporate Services Division, located at our modern and sustainable office on Glenferrie Road in Malvern, surrounded by an abundance of cafes, restaurants and shops. This position is part time for three days a week (22.8 hours per week, roughly 7.6 hours per day) with flexibility for choice of days worked.

In this position you will utilise your professional experience to process FOI applications and coordinate and deliver Council’s responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, you will provide guidance and direction to Council staff and respond to any complaints or correspondence from the Office of the Australian Victorian Information Commissioner.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated current Freedom of Information experience and strong knowledge of the legislation. Additionally you will have excellent time management skills to work to tight deadlines with a high attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to retain personal and sensitive information at the highest level of confidentiality are essential.
