An opportunity exists at the City of Stonnington - one of Melbourne’s most progressive councils, for you to use your experience in environmental education and engagement to support our recycling and waste management goals in a temporary full time position (12 months).
As the Waste Education Officer, you’ll lead the development and delivery of waste education and engagement initiatives related to food waste, recycling contamination and reducing single use plastics. As part of our Sustainable Environment Unit, you’ll research, develop and deliver tailored programs to support both Council and the community, including residents, community groups and local businesses, to avoid, reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating environmental education and behaviour change initiatives
- Great communication skills including writing for a range of stakeholders and presenting to diverse audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and work proactively within a cohesive team environment
- A history of innovation and improving processes and practices
