The City of Stonnington has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Gardener to join our Parks and Environment team on a permanent full time basis, based at the Stonnington depot in Malvern.

In this position you will attend parks, gardens and open spaces within the municipality to maintain horticultural and associated assets in a clean, green and safe condition. You will use various tools, equipment and machinery to prune, mulch, feed, control weeds and leaf blow within the gardens, and you will maintain open spaces and playgrounds to ensure they are clean, tidy and safe for the community to use.

The successful applicant will have a Horticultural Trade Certificate or equivalent training and qualifications, along with experience in the maintenance gardening industry. You will have a strong knowledge of horticulture principles and practices, and an ability to apply this knowledge to a range of open space settings. Your communication skills will be demonstrated by your completion of inspection checklists and reports, and ability to respond to queries from the community.
